Dear Gabby: I need a new study spot for finals!

    Dear Gabby,

I hate studying for finals. The library gets so freakishly crowded that I can’t focus…even B2 is fully occupied. Is there anywhere else I can go to write a 10-page paper, study for a Spanish exam, read a book I haven’t started and stay awake without my life turning into an FML entry?

    -Searching For a Nook

    Dear Searching,
You’re in luck. I never study in the same place twice, so I’ve got quite a few secret nook suggestions! Seriously, this campus sets the record for number of random couch clusters, which are perfect for a comfy study area.

    1. The third floor of Ryland, dubbed “The Great Hall” by the English department.
Pro: Reminiscent of Hogwarts, you can’t help but get your intellect flowing.
Cons: Bad lighting, probably not inviting to non-A&S majors.

    2. Someone else’s dorm lounge.
Pro: People will be so weirded out by seeing a stranger on their floor, they won’t bother you.
Con: A little bit socially awkward.

    3. Any classroom on campus — did you know they’re unlocked 24/7?
Pros: So many options, very spacious.
Con: Could get creepy if you’re alone.

    4. The Law School.
Pros: Lots of pretty views in the weird atrium area, superserious library, inspiring air of academia. Be forewarned, the law students are territorial, so act like you already own the place.
    Cons: Stuffy, tiny bathrooms.

    Good luck on your finals!
    Gabby
