Richmond (6-10), which is playing in its inaugural season as a varsity team, beat High Point 8-7 Saturday to win the Atlantic Sun Championship and earn an automatic bid. The Spiders upset top-seeded Mercer 14-6 in the semifinals Thursday.

"I'm at a bit of a loss of words here," Richmond head coach Dan Chemotti told Richmond Athletics after Satuday's win. "I'm really proud of our guys and the resolve that they showed and the confidence that they played with today."
