Richmond will welcome the world next week when the UCI Road World Championships begin, creating an opportunity for the City of Richmond to showcase itself to a global audience.
Why wait until next week though? Specialized Bicycles published a video yesterday highlighting some of the beautiful aspects of the City of Richmond in lead up to the race.
"We found it prudent to examine the vibrant elements that make up the colors of Richmond, and how they work together to be the perfect host for the most prestigious one-day event in all of cycling," according to the video description.
University of Richmond, one of the race's partners, will host the official start of the Men's Elite Road Race, the competition's premier race.
About 450,000 on-site spectators and 300 million worldwide viewers are expected to watch the event, which will take place from Sept. 19 through Sept. 27.
