Forward Meaghan Carrigan shined on Saturday when she factored into all three of Richmond’s goals and almost singlehandedly kept the Spiders in the game. Q: What’s the best moment of your soccer career?

A: Probably when my U17 club team won the regional championship, which meant we got to go to nationals.

Q: How’d nationals go?

A: We didn’t do so hot, but there were just eight teams in the country that made it.

Q: Are there any special pregame rituals that you have?

A: The day before a game I like to do facemasks, but nothing really on game day.

Q: Who’s the funniest on the team?

A: Hannah Cornman. Or Katie Brennan.

Q: Do you have a teammate that you’re closest with?

A: Not really. We’re all really close.

Q: What’s your favorite sport to watch at Richmond other than soccer?

A: Probably football since I’m from the South.

Q: If you could have dinner with any three people, who would they be?

A: It would be my grandmother on my mom’s side, Lionel Messi, and my grandfather on my dad’s side.

Q: What improvements do you want to make on the field?

A: I want to improve on my ability to turn defenders and take them on one-to-one to the goal.

Q: What do you want your legacy to be at Richmond?

A: I want to be on the best team Richmond’s ever had so winning the tournament and going to NCAAs.

Q: Is there anything else you want people to know about you?

A: That I couldn’t imagine playing college soccer at a school other than UR. I love it here.
