This year has been a season of highs and lows for the University of Richmond football team. Everything from injuries to dramatic wins to the opening E. Claiborne Robins Stadium has caused Richmond fans to endure a roller-coaster season.

Although the Richmond Spiders won their first game of the season last week, they suffered a serious loss with junior wide receiver Donte Boston suffering a broken rib early during the second half.
The defense won the annual spring football game, 54-23, Saturday afternoon. Special rules were in place that allowed the defense to score one point for a forced punt, a tackle for a loss or a broken-up pass; two points for a fourth-down stop, a sack or a two-point conversion stop; three points for a forced missed field goal, a forced three-and-out or a takeaway; and six points for scoring a touchdown. The scoring for offense was the same as a normal game, but it received one point for every first down.
