Ama Ansah, sophomore, is a site coordinator for Trojan Brand Condoms at University of Richmond, and has been distributed 500 condoms to students throughout the year at fraternity lodge parties and in Tyler Haynes Commons as part of Trojan's Great Condom Campaign. The campaign is designed to encourage safe sex by having students pass out condoms to their peers in a variety of ways.

The University of Richmond Board of Trustees will vote Thursday, April 21 on whether the university will adopt gender identity and gender expression into its non-discrimination policy. An affirmative vote would make Richmond only the third private college or university in Virginia to do so, behind Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va. and Virginia International University, located near Washington, D.C.

A University of Richmond senior was the victim of an extreme domestic violence case in December 2005. Westhampton College student De'Nora Hill filed a protective order against her ex-boyfriend, Joseph Casuccio, after he slashed her tires and broke her sliding glass door, but it was not enough. On Dec. 5, Casuccio shot and killed Hill before committing suicide.

The issue that seems to be getting lost within the current dialogue is not whether Victoria Cobb and the Family Foundation have the right to speak out against LGBTQ people, abortion and an array of other issues — because she ABSOLUTELY DOES. The issue here is that the University of Richmond and the Jepson School should not be awarding a person, however good her intentions may be, and in turn, an organization which fights to oppress an already oppressed and marginalized group.
