The heat was sweltering as students gathered in the Greek Theater on Saturday amid a mass of blue balloons. Jackets were shed, and many spectators enjoyed popsicles as they waited. Bubbles floated over everyone's heads from a bottle in the sixth row. When the first act, Resin, walked on stage to play "Love Song" by The Cure, the crowd of about 50 people erupted in riotous applause.

The Octaves, Richmond's only men's a cappella group, performed their 17th annual Spring Fever concert last Saturday in Camp Concert Hall. Twenty-five alumni members accompanied the 14 current members in celebration of its twentieth anniversary of the group. Soloists included Eric Rudofker, Jared Feinman, Jackson Taylor, Sean Brewer, Sam Raab, Chris Dolci and Jack Shaw.

The Octaves had a barbershop-quartet feel to them, but with a modern twist, during their rehearsals for their spring concert. The only doo-wopping happened during warm-up, then it was on to more contemporary tunes such as "Fireflies" by Owl City and "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz - songs that set a mood for spring.
