A strong running game and four field goals from Brandon Jordi, which tied a school record for field goals in a single game, helped University of Richmond (3-6, 1-4 CAA) end a four-game losing streak and win its first conference game Saturday against University at Albany (1-8, 0-5), 27-10.

Terrance West led No. 6 Towson (8-1, 4-1 CAA) to a 48-32 victory over Richmond (2-6, 0-4) Saturday in Robins Stadium.

Although a 2-5 record is the last thing the University of Richmond football team expected to have at this point in the season, the team said it would have a chance to turn it around this weekend when Towson, ranked sixth nationally in the Football Championship Subdivision, visits Robins Stadium.
Richmond (2-4, 0-2 CAA) fell at in-state rival James Madison (5-2, 2-1 CAA), 38-31, on Saturday, despite quarterback Michael Strauss throwing for 423 yards and two touchdowns.
Last Saturday night, Richmond (2-2) bounced back after consecutive losses to beat the Liberty Flames (2-2) 30-21, where head coach Danny Rocco coached before coming to Richmond.

Gardner-Webb kicker Jason Day made his fourth field goal of the game with 29 seconds remaining to lift the Runnin' Bulldogs over Richmond, 12-10. Richmond beat Gardner-Webb, 41-8, last season at E. Claiborne Robins Stadium.

The No. 14 ranked University of Richmond Spiders shutout the Virginia Military Institute Keydets, 34-0, in the season opener this past Saturday at Robins Stadium.
