In the early morning hours of Oct. 21, 2013, Officer Sgt. Scott Seitz stopped a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix on Route 1 in South Plainsboro, N.J., for speeding at 71 mph in a 55 mph zone. After the initial stop at 3:40 a.m., Seitz arrested the driver, Richmond basketball senior Derrick Williams after, according to a press release from the Plainsboro Township Police Department, an "investigation revealed him to be in possession of marijuana."

In June of 2008, President Emeritus of Middlebury College John McCardell launched the Amethyst Initiative at the Annapolis Group, an organization of 120 liberal arts colleges. The Amethyst Initiative, a movement to lower the drinking age to 18, has been signed by 135 college presidents across the nation.

Contrary to Emily Miller's dire warnings and cynical predictions (see 'Afroman to perform: joke's on us'), I found the Afroman concert during Pig Roast to be enjoyable and enriching. Her attacks on Afroman's talent and career proved to be patently ridiculous.

One very hot topic in current American discourse is the national legalization of marijuana. The fact that I find the argument about this issue absolutely absurd is a rather recurrent viewpoint among members of America's youth, but my reasoning may not be so nationally shared.
