The annual School of Arts & Sciences Student Symposium will be held from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. April 11 in the Modlin Center for the Arts, where there will be oral presentations, poster sessions, performances and art exhibits of students' research from across the disciplines. Ama Ansah, sophomore, is a site coordinator for Trojan Brand Condoms at University of Richmond, and has been distributed 500 condoms to students throughout the year at fraternity lodge parties and in Tyler Haynes Commons as part of Trojan's Great Condom Campaign. The campaign is designed to encourage safe sex by having students pass out condoms to their peers in a variety of ways.

President Ayers announced his resignation that will take effect in 2015. Trustee Paul Queally made controversial comments at a secret society meeting in New York City. Greek life has been restricted more than ever, with at least two fraternities on probation. The apartment buildings are being dwarfed by new high-rises. This is the last print edition of The Collegian. And I am the new Opinions Editor.

It is an incredibly exciting time at the University of Richmond. I hold this sentiment to the same extent today as when I decided to apply here as an early decision applicant and as when I first arrived here as a freshman in August of 2011.

As a Westhampton College student in the 1930s, Gertrude Murrel duPont (Howland) was upset that some of her classmates could not attend cultural events that she enjoyed because of financial reasons. She established the duPont Fund in the 1950s, which is still in effect today, to allow financially restricted students to enjoy cultural events.

Madison Holleran, a freshman member of the University of Pennsylvania track team, jumped to her death from a parking garage two weeks ago. The New York Daily News reported a family friend had said her suicide was a result of the stress of wanting to excel in academics and athletics.
