Vote Romney for president

Earlier this year, the Associated Press reported on a study using Current Population Survey data provided by the Labor Department. It determined that 53.6 percent of bachelor's degree-holders under the age of 25 are either underemployed or jobless. The same study found that many of those who were underemployed were in positions that did not require a high school diploma, much less a bachelor's degree. If this does not scare your pants off after four years at the University of Richmond, then nothing will.

Unless, of course, you want to consider that the average student-loan debt hovers around $26,500, according to a study by the Institute for College Access and Success. I love my parents as much as you do, but the thought of having to move back into my childhood room with its exuberant number of stuffed animals and Backstreet Boys CDs after four years of living on my own during college keeps me awake at night. However, it's a very real possibility given the manner by which President Obama and his administration have chosen to run our country during their time in office. We are fortunate to go to Richmond, where we have an impressive Career Services office; but still, I know plenty of recent Richmond graduates who do not have jobs or who are working in underpaid positions.

This is not acceptable, and America will not be able to sustain itself if we continue on this path of reckless spending and poor policy choices. The harsh reality is that America will not be able to compete on an international level with other countries if we crumble from within. The economy is the biggest problem facing our nation.

President Obama said it himself, "If I don't have this done in three years, then there's going to be a one-term proposition." It's time to hold the President accountable to that; it's time to elect Mitt Romney.

Why am I voting for Governor Romney? Why do the URCRs work tirelessly for "Get Out the Vote" efforts on his behalf? Because we believe he has what it takes to right what's been wrong -- our economy. When your pipe is broken, you hire a plumber. When your bone is broken, you hire a doctor. When your economy is dead, you hire a businessman.

On Nov. 6, you have a choice to participate in what some political scientists are calling the closest, most important election of our lifetimes. Please consider voting for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.
