Senior Brad Groves is currently the president of the Richmond College Student Government Association. He is a business administration and finance major with a minor in leadership studies, and studied abroad at the Copenhagen Business School in fall 2013. Under Groves’ leadership, RCSGA has worked more closely with the Westhampton College Government Association and has listened to the student body through monthly town hall forums, each of which are themed with a relevant and timely topic. Something you didn’t know about Groves? His high school job was pumping gas in Princeton, New Jersey. Here’s a glimpse into a day in his life.

8:00 a.m. – Wake up, make coffee. Drink it black. Watch the news.

9:00 a.m. – Do the reading for today’s class and get dressed in a suit.

9:30 a.m. – Attend the President’s Council meeting with Dr. Steve Bisese, vice president for student development, and the various student government presidents.

10:00 a.m. – Return to my apartment and promptly change into more comfortable attire.

10:15 a.m. – Start the long trek from the UFAs to Jepson for leadership class.

10:45 a.m. – Resist the urge to check my phone as it buzzes half a dozen times in class – likely junk emails I tell myself.

11:50 a.m. – Grab Passport sushi, walk toward Whitehurst and give scornful looks to kids looking at their phones instead of where they are going.

11:59 a.m. – Trip up the steps of Whitehurst as I look at my phone to check emails.

12:00 p.m. – Meet with Dean Boehman to discuss the agenda for the week’s RCSGA meeting.

12:45 p.m. – Give advice to someone preparing for interviews in the finance industry.

1:00 p.m. – Head to my on-campus job at the law school admissions office.

3:30 p.m. – Walk to Spanish Drill. Contemplate why I chose to put off my COM2 requirement until senior year. Put a note in my phone to ask the Provost whether we can make these classes pass/fail.

5:00 p.m. – Grab a quick dinner with my apartment mates at Tyler’s.

6:00 p.m. – Slowly make my way to the business school for my once-a-week finance class.

9:00 p.m. – Arrive back at my apartment. Respond to the emails I have neglected throughout the day.

10:00 p.m. – Contemplate beginning homework, look at apartment listings in Charlotte for next year instead.

11:00 p.m. – Annoy my roommate by playing guitar and continuing to put off homework. Look at my schedule for tomorrow and prepare for any meetings.

11:45 p.m. – Begin working on homework.

11:59 p.m. – Decide to call it a night.
