Senior guard Kendall Anthony put on a clinic Saturday afternoon against High Point University. He scored 22 points, and shot 80 percent from the field. His energy and leadership gave the Spiders the advantage for the 80-56 win over the Panthers.

Through three games this season, Anthony is averaging 16 points per game and shooting 50 percent from the field. At 3-point range, he is shooting 55 percent. The team is heading to Raleigh, North Carolina Wednesday to face the North Carolina State Wolfpack.

Q: When did you start playing basketball?

A: I started playing when I was 5 years old.

Q: What’s been your best athletic moment to date?

A: Winning a state championship in high school.

Q: Do you have any pregame rituals?

A: I pray before every game.

Q: What kind of music is on your pregame playlist?

A: Rap music.

Q: Who’s the best dancer on the team? Why?

A: Deion Taylor, because he dances to every song he hears!

Q: Who’s the best singer on the team? Why?

A: Zach Chu…

Q: Do you have favorite player on a different team at Richmond? Why?

A: Reggie and Stephen Barnette, because they’re great guys and they are very passionate about their sport.

Q: What do you see yourself doing in ten years?

A: I see myself still playing basketball.

Q: Do you have any role models? Who are they and why?

A: My grandfather, because he’s taught me everything I know, and I want to be half the man he is.

Q: What are you afraid of?

A: Failing in life.

Q: What’s one thing you can do better than Coach Mooney?

A: I can run faster.
