Linebacker Omar Howard made 18 tackles, a team and career high, in the Spiders’ 10-9 victory over the third-ranked Villanova Wildcats on Saturday. Howard has earned increased playing time this season by showing the coaches his hustle and energy.

Q: When did you start playing football?
A: When I was eight years old.

Q: What’s been your best athletic moment to date?
A: I guess states for wrestling, and I placed fourth.
Q: Do you have any pregame rituals?
A: No, not really.
Q: What kind of music is on your pregame playlist?
A: I actually don’t listen to music, I just kind of hang out.
Q: What’s your favorite movie on Netflix?
A: Friday Night Lights.
Q: Who’s the best dancer on the team?
A: Dominique Miller.
Q: Who’s the funniest person on the team?
A: Dominique Miller.
Q: Who’s the best singer on the team?
A: Eric Wright.
Q: Do you have a favorite player on a different team at Richmond?
A: Kendall Anthony. He works hard and you can see it.
Q: What do you see yourself doing in ten years?
A: I have no clue, but I will major in leadership and minor in business.
Q: Do you have any role models?
A: Coach (Byron) Thweatt, because he pushes me. (Thweatt is the linebacker coach at Richmond.)
Q: What are you afraid of?
A: Spiders.
Q: What’s one thing you can do better than your coach?
A: Umm, I can play video games, for sure.
