“Cage the Elephant is going to blow your face off,” lead singer of Silversun Pickups Brian Aubert said to an energetic crowd at Richmond Coliseum Tuesday night.
And that they did.
American rock band Cage the Elephant headlined the Spring Fling 2016 tour, which included fellow rockers Silversun Pickups, Foals and Bear Hands.
For the Spring Fling tour, the four bands partnered with Spotify to create custom road-trip playlists where concertgoers input their home addresses and tour location and are given a custom Spotify playlist in return. The playlist consists of songs from the four bands on tour and is timed to last concertgoers’ entire drive to the tour stop.
After Brooklyn-based rock band Bear Hands and English-rockers Foals opened the show as the crowd filtered into the arena, California-Indie band Silversun Pickups took the stage to sing recent hits “Circadian Rhythm” and “Nightline.” The band closed its nearly hour-long set with its most famous song, “Lazy Eye.”
The 15-city tour, which started in Fresno, California, on March 11, is just the start for Cage the Elephant, as the band recently announced plans to headline a North American tour this summer with indie-rock band Portugal. The Man.
