National Voter Registration Day
Tuesday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Head to The Forum on Tuesday to celebrate National Voter Registration Day with voting forms, information materials and other goodies. This event is hosted by the Bonner Center for Civic Engagement. Every vote counts, so get prepared for November!
Tuesday through Sunday
“Mean Girls” is on tour and will be in Richmond this week, bringing Broadway to you. Performances will be held at the Altria Theater in Downtown Richmond. Tickets start at $29 and can be purchased here. Don’t miss out on the chance to see this favorite film brought to life on stage.
Swipe Right: How To Be A Tinder Pro
Thursday 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Adam Dodge, a digital safety expert, is coming to the University of Richmond to host an interactive event about online dating challenges and how to stay safe. Dodge has extensive experience and his work has been featured in several mainstream publications. Head to the Alice Haynes Room in Tyler Haynes Commons on Thursday night to learn how to protect yourself in the digital dating world. This event is sponsored by the Center for Awareness, Response & Education and Gottwald Speaker’s Fund.
Comedian Martin Amini Headlines University of Richmond

Head to The Current in Tyler Haynes Commons Friday evening to see a performance by comedian Martin Amini. In 2018, Amini was on Thrillist’s “Best Undiscovered Stand-Up Comedian List.” This event is a part of UR’s Latinx Heritage Month celebrations. Virginia State Fair
Friday through next Sunday
Pumpkin weigh-offs, petting zoos, musical performances and chainsaw artwork? The Virginia State Fair has something for everyone. The fair will be up and running for just over a week and is only a 30-minute drive from campus. Tickets are available for $10 and can be purchased ahead of time here. Kayaking at the Huguenot Flatwater
Saturday 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The Outdoor Adventure and Recreation Program at the Weinstein Center for Recreation is hosting a kayaking outing to the James River this weekend. Students must register for this event and pay a $10 fee. If you can’t make it kayaking this weekend, check out the other programs offered by the Weinstein Center here.
