Indonesian culture filled The Westhampton Green at 6 p.m. Sept. 21, inviting passersby to the space with traditional food, coffee, music, dance and martial arts. The event was a collaboration among on-campus and off-campus organizations to highlight the diversity of the country that consists of over 17,000 islands.

The board announced on March 17 its decision to not rename Mitchell-Freeman and Ryland halls after the UR Black Student Coalition advocated for the names of Douglas Southall Freeman and Robert Ryland to be removed from the buildings.

Claiborne Robins, Frederic Boatwright and Pauly Queally on University of Richmond campus signage over the course of several weeks in March. Black Lives Matter flags were also placed over signs beginning on March 25, 2021.
A group of students who recently released a statement about Black student welfare on campus organized and led a widely-attended, virtual teach-in protest on Friday, which was intended to educate the University of Richmond community on the history of Black activism and promote the student coalition's demands for social and nominal change at UR. There was an attendance of more than 300 faculty, staff and students.
