The morning light seeps into the dark corners of Gray Court, illuminating a clean, well-organized room. The neat arrangement of pen cups, hand sanitizer and class handouts presents a synergy between efficiency and organization within junior Anthony Lawrence’s dorm room. Lawrence quickly makes his bed as he prepares himself for his classes and the swath of questions he is sure to face after stepping outside.
Almost a year to the day when University of Richmond suspended classes because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Adrienne Piazza, associate director of the Bonner Center for Civic Engagement, arrived at the Richmond Raceway to receive her first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

Three students in the Gottwald Center for the Sciences started the Gottwald Student Group to provide resources for students interested in STEM careers, specifically those who do not plan to attend medical or graduate school. The organization is not yet recognized by UR.

UR moved to the Orange Stage of its physical distancing framework Thursday, as a result of consistent decreases in COVID-19 cases on campus and in surrounding areas, according to an email from administrators sent to the UR community Thursday.

The University of Richmond Black Student Coalition is asking students, faculty and staff who support the demands of the Statement on Black Student Welfare to disaffiliate from student organizations, task forces and other extracurricular roles at UR on March 25, in response to a March 17 email from president Ronald Crutcher announcing the names of Mitchell-Freeman and Ryland halls will not change.
The Community Dialogue Facilitation Network, which aims to strengthen skills needed to facilitate difficult dialogue, started with a pilot series of five sessions this month.
