The chips are on the table; starting Wednesday, the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox, two teams that faced each other in the 2004 World Series, will square off again for a shot at the 2013 title. In 2004, it was all BoSox. They swept the Cardinals four games to none.

The article, titled "This What World Like Now," is written with mock quotes from people resigned to living "in a time and place where expecting the worst and feeling slightly afraid of what awful thing will happen next is the default state of being."

When the Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup last May, it did many great things. First of all, it sent the city of Vancouver into a state of emergency. The footage from the riots there looked like a scene from "Cloverfield." It also gave the Bruins its first Stanley Cup since 1972. But more importantly, at least to the people of Boston, it brought them, and only them (seriously no one else), the joy of having a legitimate claim to referring to Boston as Title Town, USA. Allow me to explain.

Chuck Morris, Ph. D. and renowned scholar, came to speak at our school this week. He calls himself an "accidental activist" at Boston College, where he teaches. He incorporates material on the history of homosexuals into his course because as someone of homosexual orientation, he simply feels that this is material that should be exposed to anyone desiring a full education.

Sophomore kicker Wil Kamin made a 20-yard field goal in overtime to give the Spiders a 13-10 win and keep their playoff hopes alive. Richmond improved to 5-4 on the season and 10-1 all time in overtime games. One of those wins came earlier this season, with a 27-21 victory over Elon in the Robins Stadium opener.
