Despite being a nice respite from sweaty lodges and packed apartments, going out in the Fan or downtown Richmond still has its trials, most of which stem from the fact that it's the "real world," outside of the confines of our cozy collegiate playground.

I enjoyed reading the abroad experiences that many of my fellow classmates had abroad, and I agree with most of them. I studied abroad in Madrid in fall 2011, and it was a great experience academically and socially.

So the weather gets better. The birds chirp, the bees buzz, the pants start coming down and the the shorts keep rising. Spring is in the air. There is not only the change in weather, but the change in demeanor of everyone and everything.

After three and a half years following Richmond athletics, I have seen it all. I have seen good teams and bad teams, great games and miserable games. I have seen our men's basketball team almost upset the University of Wisconsin in the first round of the NCAA tournament, and I have seen our football team make a run at their own title before being beaten by Furman University in the quarterfinals of the playoffs.
