At the University of Richmond, Richmond College students stood outside Westhampton College dormitories crying for undergarments. The Panty Raid, a tradition where Westhampton women threw their panties to men from their dorm windows, was an annual affair implemented by UR students in the 1950s.

After a year of working as a legal assistant at a law firm in Washington D.C., Emily Landon, a 2018 University of Richmond graduate, is ready to apply her skills and knowledge in the field. Landon, who majored in Arabic studies and international studies with a world politics and diplomacy concentration, as well as a minor in history, received a Fulbright award to teach English in Tajikistan beginning this fall.

This September, senior Tom Vanderbeek will be leaving for a year in Rhineland, Germany, to serve as an English Teaching Assistant (ETA) in a German school — a position awarded him through the Fulbright program. Vanderbeek was one of three University of Richmond students to be awarded and accept a Fulbright Award this year.

As a toddler, now-senior Vincent Camp would peer eagerly over his brother's shoulder, memorizing every key his brother pressed when playing "Carnivores" on their family's computer. This time, he will be on an English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, which gave him a Fulbright award this year.
