The University of Richmond football team defeated the Virginia Military Institute Keydets on Saturday at UR Stadium, 38-28, behind a career-best performance from quarterback Eric Ward.
Members of the Westhampton College class of 2013 took part in the annual Proclamation Night ceremony Sunday, Sept. 20. The ceremony featured a class photograph, a walk across campus, reflective speeches by upperclassmen and the signing of the Honor Code.

First-year students and transfer students gathered for a welcome ceremony at the Robins Center, followed by a picnic at President Edward L. Ayers' home Sunday. After the picnic, some students enjoyed dessert at the Modlin Center.
The University of Richmond welcomed its largest class ever, the Class of 2013, during orientation activities.
During Sunday's commencement ceremonies, the University of Richmond awarded 702 bachelor's degrees and 74 graduate degrees. Virginia Gov. Timothy M. Kaine, who is also chairman of the Democratic National Committee, delivered the commencement address, and senior chemistry major Odamea Akomah gave remarks at the student commencement speaker.
University of Richmond seniors gathered Saturday night around Westhampton Lake for a candlelight ceremony, which included musical performances, student speaker Abigail Cohen and a fireworks display.
Nine students -- three from the University of Richmond, five from Virginia Commonwealth University and one from Randolph-Macon College -- were commissioned as 2nd lieutenants in the U.S. Army on Saturday during a ceremony at Cannon Memorial Chapel. They are: Riannon Blaisdell-Black, Andrew Deel and Sean Sneeden of Richmond; Paul Dufore, Jeremy Stoddard, Mallory Vance, Joshua Williams and Earl Yevak of VCU; and Jeremy Robinson of Randolph-Macon College.
