The University of Richmond men’s basketball team has been quarantining and isolating in hotels and, at one point, used a shortened quarantine period, players said.
As the semester picks up and workloads increase, it is still important for students to unplug and find time to do things for themselves.Of course, 'fun' is always relative, and the COVID-19 pandemic has thrown a further challenge into the mix of finding ways for students to get involved and socialize.
University of Richmond senior Suraj Bala sat in the monitoring room of the Henrico County Health Department among the complimentary water bottles and granola bars. Fifteen minutes had passed since Bala entered the room and no severe side effects seem to appear from his vaccine treatment, he recalled. By the end of his appointment, Bala left the health department knowing he was one of the first people in the UR community to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
There has been some uncertainty among University of Richmond students about what qualifies as a close contact and when someone should self-report or quarantine.

The COVID-19 virus has presented many unknowns, but the research conducted by people within the University of Richmond community can offer some insights. Three UR faculty members shared with The Collegian how their studies are applicable to the current pandemic.
The women’s basketball team began its season about a month later than in previous years because of the COVID-19 pandemic. A news article released by the Atlantic-10 Conference on Nov. 19 stated that both women’s and men’s basketball programs will conduct an 18-game conference schedule.
