Tuesday night, the women's basketball team outlasted the Fordham University Rams in a double overtime thriller, winning 78-77 on a game-winning shot by freshman guard Janelle Hubbard. The Spiders rebounded after dropping their first game against Fordham back in January. Hubbard and senior guard Kristina King combined for a total of 58 points.
The past 11 days have been a challenge for the University of Richmond. Following an impressive home victory over Temple University, the Spiders had lost their past two games, including an 18-point loss to George Washington University, a bottom team in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
The University of Richmond baseball team lost 11-6 to Fordham University on Sunday at Pitt Field, and lost the three game series 2-1.
