"I can say honestly, from the bottom of my heart, it has been six years that have been like a labor of love," said Ronald Crutcher, the outgoing president of UR.
The deans sent the email, which is titled “An Open Letter to the Board of Trustees from the Five Deans of Schools,” to the Board on April 2.

Instead of spring break, UR provided students with two wellness days, on Feb. 9 and April 7, as well as a light workload week from March 1 to March 5.

Communicable and infectious diseases that people transmit from one person to another tend to carry stigma, especially when they are newer and scarier.
The trio felt these resources were not sufficiently being provided by UR in comparison to support for leadership studies and business majors, Weinberg said.
Miquell Shaw, a member of the Africana Studies Student Committee, recalled a one-on-one conversation he had with Crutcher in summer 2020 at Crutcher’s on-campus home.
Friends told sophomore Penny Hu they had been referred to as a “Chinese virus” on campus around last March, she said.
