The Spiders move to 3-3 as they enter conference play at the start of the new year.
“We didn’t execute very well,” said head coach Aaron Roussell. “VCU came in locked in, ready, realizing this was a rivalry game and I think that was the story.”
The Spiders men’s basketball team lost their first game of the season 71-87 against 11th-ranked West Virginia University on Dec. 13.
Despite a delayed start to the season, the women's basketball team boasts a 3-1 record.
