The Christmas market is a huge holiday favorite with local families and received over 350,000 visitors last year.

There are over 50 wooden chalets selling food, drinks and gifts. There is a mail box for letters to Santa and children can even visit Santa’s grotto.

Two UR study abroad students, juniors Nicole Murgia and Kevin Mudrick, looked in a market stand for Christmas gift ideas from both local and European traders.

Food lovers can feast on a bratwurst, French pastries, pretzels, crêpes and waffles, while beer lovers can sample a stein at the German Bierkeller, offering a range of traditional German beers, apple cider and mulled wine.
