University of Richmond Police Report: March 30, 2015 – April 5, 2015
The city of Richmond, which served as the capital of the Confederacy during the American Civil War, commemorated the 150th anniversary of the conclusion of the war through Richmond’s Journey, a series of programs held in the city from April 1-4.
During a three-day period last week, University of Richmond Police stopped 80 drivers on Boatwright Drive for speeding in excess of 10 mph in an area with seven pedestrian crossings, according to an email University of Richmond faculty and staff received Tuesday morning.
No member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s Virginia Tau chapter at University of Richmond attended the national leadership cruise where members of the former University of Oklahoma chapter learned the racist chant that has since sparked national controversy, said Tucker White, SAE's Virginia Tau president.

University administrators hosted a town hall forum on the sexual misconduct policy the following night. The Collegian documented the busy week leading up to the Department of Education's visit to campus schedule for Tuesday, March 31.
With representatives from the Department of Education scheduled to hold student-only focus groups on campus Tuesday, March 31, as part of its on-going investigation into University of Richmond’s sexual assault policy, Westhampton College deans and other administrators heavily encouraged Richmond students to attend the sessions at the town hall forum on sexual misconduct policies Wednesday night.
For the second time this semester, Richmond College and Westhampton College hosted a Town Hall Forum about University of Richmond’s sexual misconduct policy, and once again student government members represented an overwhelming majority of attendees.

August 9, 2014 began what was one of the most publicized incidences involving the interaction between police and citizens in recent years, Edwin Meese III, the 75th attorney general of the United States, said at a lecture yesterday.
With new changes to the sexual misconduct policy that was updated at the start of the academic school year, University of Richmond will host a town forum event Wednesday with the hopes of educating the campus community on these changes, Beth Curry said, who is the coordinator for sexual misconduct education and advocacy on campus.
