Police Report: 4/23/09

Vandalism

April 13, 11:15 a.m. The glass panes of two dryer doors were smashed in the laundry room of Marsh Hall. The damage was estimated at $60 for each door.

April 18, 10:56 a.m. The front passenger-side tire of a car belonging to a person not associated with the university was punctured in the 1400 block of the University Forest Apartments. The damage was estimated at $100.

April 19, 1:19 a.m. An unknown male broke the fourth window on the left side of a charter bus in C-lot by the intramural fields. The male hit the window with his hand, University of Richmond Police said. The damage was estimated at $250.

April 19, 11:40 a.m. Vulgar graffiti was written on the columns near the front door of a Richmond College student's apartment in the 1200 block of UR Drive. A hole was also smashed at the bottom of the stairs in the same apartment. University Facilities estimated the graffiti cleanup at $20 for paint, but they have not assessed the wall damage, university police said.

April 20, 2:20 p.m. An exit sign was ripped from the ceiling in South Court. The damage was estimated at $60.

April 20, 6:08 p.m. A rowing shell belonging to the University of Richmond club crew team was damaged in storage in Chesterfield County. The team went to remove the boat from storage and discovered minor damage to the shell. The damage was estimated at $1.

Vandalism/Theft

April 19, 9:12 p.m. The glass pane of a vending machine was shattered in Dennis Hall and an estimated $200 in food was stolen from the machine. The damage to the machine was estimated at $500.

April 20, 12:12 a.m. A latch on a cabinet was broken off inside the Weinstein Center for Recreation and Wellness and five sheets of paper were stolen. The five sheets of paper were estimated at $1 total.

Burglary

April 16, 11:41 a.m. Two debit cards, two credit cards and $30 in cash were stolen from an RC student's room in a residence hall on the Westhampton College side of the lake.

April 16, 11:50 a.m. A debit card, a credit card, a wallet and a driver's license were stolen from an RC student's room in a residence hall on the WC side of the lake. The wallet was valued at $25 and the driver's license was valued at $10.

Larceny

April 20, 3:25 p.m. A wristlet valued at $20, a mail key and a SpiderCard valued at $1 were stolen from a WC student's room in North Court.

Liquor Law Violation

April 17, 1:57 a.m. An RC student was referred to the dean for underage possession of alcohol in South Court.
