Police Report: 9/3/09

Vandalism

Aug. 4, 1:00 p.m. Two glass windows were broken and a fire extinguisher was stolen from a trailer on the construction site of Queally Hall, the addition to the E. Claiborne Robins School of Business.

Aug. 23, 5:26 a.m. A stolen golf cart was pushed into the lake off of Lakeview Road. The damage was estimated at $1,000.

Aug. 24, 7:35 a.m. A glass door pane was broken in South Court. The damage was estimated at $75.

Aug. 28, 12:30 a.m. A "No Parking" sign was pulled out of the ground in the 1900 block of the University Forest Apartments. The damage was estimated at $100.

Aug. 30, 2:09 a.m. The wooden railing for the steps leading from the Modlin Center for the Arts to R-lot was ripped out. The damage was estimated at $1,500.

Indecent Exposure

July 13, 9:52 p.m. A juvenile exposed himself in Marsh Hall.

Liquor Law Violation

July 18, 1:20 a.m. A Richmond College student was referred to the dean after being transported from the 400 block of the apartments to St. Mary's Hospital for an alcohol-related illness.

Aug. 23, 2:00 a.m. A Westhampton College student was referred to the dean for underage possession of alcohol by consumption in R-lot.

Aug. 23, 4:29 a.m. An RC student was arrested on a charge of being drunk in public in the University Forum. He was taken to Richmond City Jail and referred to the dean.

Aug. 28, 11:55 p.m. An RC student was referred to the dean after being transported from R-lot to St. Mary's Hospital for an alcohol-related illness.

Larceny

July 17, 11:38 a.m. A mountain bike and bike lock belonging to a staff member were stolen outside of the Heilman Dining Center. The bike's value was estimated at $124 and the lock was estimated at $10.

Aug. 22, 8:31 a.m. A white purse containing a SpiderCard, Verizon Wireless phone and keys was stolen from Tyler Haynes Commons. The total value was estimated at $200.

Aug. 23, 2:58 p.m. Six "Reserved Parking" signs were stolen from the 600, 700 and 800 blocks of the apartments. The signs' values were estimated at $150 total.

Motor Vehicle Theft

July 29, 10:25 a.m. A University Facilities golf cart was stolen from behind Maryland Hall on July 28 and recovered later at the T.C. Williams School of Law. Later during the morning of July 29, it was stolen again in front of Whitehurst. The cart was recovered that afternoon after two juveniles were caught taking it for a joy ride.

Aug. 4, 1:00 p.m. A University Facilities golf cart was stolen outside of D-Hall and later recovered along the lake path on the Westhampton side of the lake.

Aug. 6, 8:38 a.m. Two juvenile summer employees were seen driving a stolen University Facilities golf cart near Lakeview Hall. They were apprehended by University Police and asked to leave campus.

Aug. 26, 9:33 a.m. A stolen golf cart was found outside Wood Hall with a cracked front passenger side bumper. The damage was estimated at $75.

Aug. 30, 12:03 a.m. A golf cart was stolen from outside Marsh Hall and later recovered in the 1500 block of the apartments.

Disorderly Conduct

July 31, 1:36 a.m. An RC student and a male not associated with the university were in a fight inside Thomas Hall. A sheet of drywall was punctured, an exit sign was broken and ceiling tiles were cracked. The damage was estimated at $400.

Theft from Building

Aug. 12, 4:12 p.m. Ten Logitech Web cameras were stolen from the Special Programs Building. The Web cameras' values were estimated at $85 each.

Drug/Narcotic Violation

Aug. 18, 3:55 a.m. Forty-eight marijuana plants were discovered at a university-owned private residence in Goochland County.

Burglary/Breaking and Entering

Aug. 19, 3:24 p.m. A Sharp LCD TV was stolen from the Jepson Alumni Center. The TV's value was estimated at $1,300.
