What do you do during the weekends?

Weather permitting, I spend lots of weekend time in my very large organic vegetable garden. Weather not permitting, I do class prep, believe it or not.

What's the craziest thing you did when you were in college

I did way too many crazy things. The stupidest crazy thing I ever did was as assistant editor of the college paper. I suggested the Chairman of the Board of Trustees should step down because he was a convicted felon. I was wrong: he had pled "no contest" to tax evasion so technically he had not been convicted. Moral of story: When denouncing powerful people, be precise.

What's one thing your students would never guess about you?

My students know almost everything about me, but maybe one thing they don't know is that I have an entire room in my house decorated with Xena Warrior Princess memorabilia.
