Are you looking for something to do with your special someone this Valentine’s Day? Well look no further, because we’ve got you covered!
Though we are no relationship experts, we’ve rounded up some of the best spots on and off campus to celebrate the holiday.
URWell will be hosting fun Valentine’s Day activities to spread the love. Join them on Feb. 14 in the Heilman Dining Hall between 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with your significant other or just yourself to enjoy treats made with love.
For those looking for a post-dinner activity, the Spiritual but not Religious group at UR is hosting a “You are Loved” meditation at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 in the mind-body studio in the Well-Being Center.
Does campus feel a little too claustrophobic? We have some great off-campus date ideas too.
For a more classic date night idea, head to Gersi to grab a bite of their famous homemade pasta. Located at 800 N Davis St., the small restaurant offers an intimate setting that is perfect for Valentine's Day.
If you’re not in the mood for traditional Italian food, try the new restaurant Uliveto, which was opened by the same owners as Gersi and offers a new Mediterranean spin. Located just a few blocks away from Gersi, this new spot is a must try.
First-year Gavin Clausen and Fernanda Moya Quezada are planning to celebrate the holiday (and their four-month anniversary!) by going to Botanya for a special Valentine’s Day four-course meal selection.
“I love celebrations, birthdays are sacred to me. Every kind of holiday – I just love it,” Moya Quezada said. “I was pretty excited to spend Valentine’s Day here this year because I know that here in the U.S., Valentine’s Day culture is much bigger than in Chile.”
If none of these recommendations pique your interest, then you’re in luck because Richmond has plenty of amazing restaurants.
Try out L’Opossum for a Virginia twist on traditional French cuisine. Located at 626 China St., this highly-rated restaurant will be sure to be the perfect spot for a nice Valentine’s Day dinner.
If you are looking to dine in Carytown, head to Lolita’s for some authentic Mexican food and drinks. The pink-tiled restaurant hosts the perfect ambiance for either a Galentine’s celebration or a romantic dinner with your special someone. If you’re in the mood for some seafood, try East Coast Provisions.

To end your date on a sweet note, Carytown’s For the Love of Chocolate offers a great selection of chocolates and candies. If you’re more into baked goods, head down to Shyndigz, where they are making their signature truffle cake for those lovebirds who are celebrating Valentine’s Day.
If all else fails, remember it's always the thought that counts. Go to CVS and Publix for a nice card and some flowers, just remember to write something sentimental!
