UR alum cruises to victory

Running unopposed in HD-80, incumbent Virginia House Representative Democrat Destiny LeVere Bolling, ‘16, has won House District 80 in Henrico County.

A Virginia native, she ran her campaign on expanding affordable healthcare, expanding educational opportunities and fighting for workers’ rights. Since LeVere Bolling’s election in 2023, she has sponsored bills supporting maternal healthcare, renewable energy and rights to contraceptives.

“Expanding access to healthcare and making it more affordable will be Destiny’s top priority if she is elected to the Virginia House of Delegates, especially for children and older adults.” LeVere Bolling’s campaign website reads.

LeVere Bolling received $306,704 in donations, the largest donation of $161,489 came from Dominion Energy. She was endorsed by former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe and former Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney.

“As a former educator and union leader, Destiny will use those experiences and work to deliver a world-class education for our children and ensure Virginia families have the opportunity to thrive,” Stoney said in her endorsement.

LeVere Bolling graduated from the University of Richmond as Class of 2016 with degrees in political science, international relations and Latin American Iberian studies. In February 2025, LeVere Bolling became the first Virginia lawmaker to vote remotely after she gave birth.
