The Richmond Spiders were defeated by Duquesne University 62-67 in the second round of the A-10 Tournament on March 4, ending their NCAA Tournament chances and potentially their season.
The 10th-ranked University of Richmond Women’s Lacrosse team suffered a 15-9 loss to the 18th-ranked University of Virginia on Friday, Feb. 19. This was the Spiders' first loss of the early season.
The Richmond Spiders defeated St. Mary’s College of Maryland 90-49 on Sunday, Feb. 14. This was the Spiders first game in over two weeks due to their third pause because of positive COVID-19 cases among the team.
After a two week hiatus because of COVID-19 protocols, the University of Richmond basketball team was back in action Saturday, Jan. 23 against La Salle University. The Spiders fell short 78-84, giving them their second conference loss of the season.
The Spiders men’s basketball team lost their first game of the season 71-87 against 11th-ranked West Virginia University on Dec. 13. This was UR’s second top-20 matchup this season.
After the long wait, the University of Richmond Spiders started their much anticipated 2020-21 season campaign with an 82-64 victory over Morehead State University.
Although the University of Richmond’s cross country teams’ seasons are postponed to the spring because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the teams are still finding a way to compete. In absence of a fall season, the teams have been competing in team time trials around campus. Time trials are simulated running activities that are used to measure a runner's performance outside of an organized race.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been no football this fall. Yet, hopes for a spring 2021 season have been buoyed following the CAA release of the proposed schedule.
