Inclusivity has been a major focus at University of Richmond as part of the Richmond Promise. As a result of the hard work of many faculty and students, the university will be honored May 3 with the Catalyst Award for supporting LGBTQ students and creating a more inclusive environment.

The College Board recently announced, effective spring 2016, the SAT will be completely redesigned. The website outlines the basic changes that include a return to the 1600-point scale, no penalties for wrong answers and three newly organized sections: evidence-based reading and writing, math and the essay. The College Board explains the motivation for these changes, claiming that the new test is better aligned with "college readiness and success." Despite these claims, the SAT will still fail to capture many aspects of intelligence that can influence success in college.

In the past several years, the rate of college students studying abroad has increased dramatically. Not only do schools encourage spending a semester in a foreign country more these days, but students also seem to be encouraging each other. According to the National Association of Foreign Student Advisers, 283,332 students studied abroad during the 2011-12 school year. Since then, the number has risen.
