As sexual misconduct policy and prevention at schools remains a national discussion, it has been closely examined at Richmond in recent days. On March 24, 2015, The Collegian published the results to its Campus Attitudes on Sexual Misconduct survey. University administrators hosted a town hall forum on the sexual misconduct policy the following night. The Collegian documented the busy week leading up to the Department of Education's visit to campus schedule for Tuesday, March 31.

With representatives from the Department of Education scheduled to hold student-only focus groups on campus Tuesday, March 31, as part of its on-going investigation into University of Richmond’s sexual assault policy, Westhampton College deans and other administrators heavily encouraged Richmond students to attend the sessions at the town hall forum on sexual misconduct policies Wednesday night.

The Collegian received 1,004 University of Richmond undergraduate student responses – 34 percent of the student body – to its Spring 2015 Campus Attitudes on Sexual Assault survey. 621 of those started surveys were completed, and the response rates to individual questions varied significantly. The Collegian is asking all undergraduate students to answer a brief
survey. The purpose of this study is to collect data from current
undergraduates on the social and cultural climate at the University of
Richmond. This survey is made up of several sections that ask about your
knowledge, opinions, and beliefs on certain subjects, including sexual assault.
