After five years, the University of Richmond’s Relay for Life organization hosted the fundraiser on April 2 and collected $22,585 for the American Cancer Society, three times the expected total of donations, said Nancy Bagranoff, faculty advisor and accounting professor.

In a true economist fashion, University of Richmond President Kevin Hallock said UR's comparative advantages were what would make it the best small university at his inaugural ceremony on April 8. Hallock, a labor market economist, delivered his speech in the E. Claiborne Robins Stadium to hundreds of community members who came to celebrate UR’s 11th president.

University of Richmond President Kevin Hallock has spent the academic year meeting his new constituents. He spoke at the grand opening of the Student Center for Equity and Inclusion. He attended the march in support of survivors of sexual assault. He watched the men’s basketball team win the Atlantic 10 championship. As spring 2022 comes to an end, UR will celebrate Hallock’s official inauguration this weekend.

The University of Richmond men’s and women’s tennis teams hosted Longwood University and quickly swept the Lancers off UR’s webs on April 6.

Designated hitter junior Will Gersky hit a grand slam that lead the University of Richmond to a nine-run first inning and a 9-2 victory over Longwood University on April 5 at Pitt Field.
On one of the red and blue sticky notes, a member of the University of Richmond community had written, “Hugs from dear friends.” Another one read, “Kids activities, time with family and people I know.” On another, a single word: “Vacations.”
