A jumper by junior Kevin Anderson gave the Spiders a 13-point lead \0x2212 their largest of the game \0x2212 with 3:27 to go in the first half.
The University of Richmond women's basketball team lost to Georgetown University 78-63 on Saturday. The Hoyas' three-point shooting and ability to convert fouls into points at the free-throw line hurt the Spiders.

University of Richmond football coach Mike London accepted the head coaching job at the University of Virginia today, ending his two-year run with the Spiders. Virginia held a press conference at 1 p.m.
The University of Richmond women's basketball team won its second-consecutive game against rival Virginia Commonwealth University Sunday afternoon 66-52 at the Siegel Center. Junior Brittani Shells recorded her first career double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Spiders against the Rams. The Spiders outrebounded VCU 52-35 even though VCU averaged 46 rebounds per game.
For the third-consecutive game, the University of Richmond men's basketball team played a team expected to reach the NCAA Tournament.

The University of Richmond men's basketball team used a 14-0 run to start the game to defeat the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga 75-49 during the first round of the South Padre Island Invitational. During its previous game against the College of William & Mary, Richmond ran out to an early lead, but saw the Tribe storm back and win 78-71.

Drexel University, led by guard Jasmine Rosseel, overpowered the University of Richmond late during the second half at the Robins Center Friday night and won 67-52. Drexel shot 58 percent from three-point territory.

After 81 seasons, it is time to say goodbye to the home of the University of Richmond football program. When the Spiders take on the College of William & Mary at noon on Saturday, it will be the last time they play a regular-season game at UR Stadium in Carytown.

The University of Richmond men's soccer team finished its season 5-11-2, playing all year under the direction of two new coaches. Head coach Clint Peay and assistant coach Todd Herman were new to the Richmond men's soccer program when the season began. Before coming to Richmond, Peay was an assistant coach at George Mason University, Davidson College and Georgetown University; Herman also served as an assistant coach at Davidson. "It was a much more enjoyable season under the new coaches," team captain and senior Fynn Glover said, adding that it had definitely been a transitional season as well. Peay said this season gave him a chance to instill his philosophies into the team's training, and for the players to understand what was expected of them. "It's a continual building process," he said. Not all of the players were thrilled about having new coaches. "You have to prove yourself again," senior Stephen Chareczko said, comparing it to starting over again as a freshman. If players had questions, Chareczko said, the coaches would seem very distant and would barely offer any positive or negative criticism. Senior Malcolm Joseph said class conflicts caused problems for players during the season. "This year was not as well organized as the other years," Joseph said.
"The very first overtime game played at the Division I-AA level was our game against [the University of Massachusetts] in '87.
"I think what I'm most looking forward to is just being on campus, as simple as that sounds. ... People will see the real value of football.
I don't remember much about the first University of Richmond football game I ever saw, but I definitely remember the morning before it. It was Family Weekend.
