Men’s basketball secures NIT bid

After a heartbreaking 66-61 loss to Saint Joseph’s University in the quarterfinal round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament on March 14 – a loss which squelched any chances of an NCAA Tournament bid – the University of Richmond men’s basketball was selected to play in the National Invitational Tournament.

Ticket punched: Spiders headed to March Madness

The University of Richmond women’s basketball team took down the University of Rhode Island 65-51 on March 10 in the Atlantic 10 Championship, securing an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. This is the Spiders’ first A-10 Championship in the history of the program.

Spider Sports Recap | Week of Feb. 19

The University of Richmond baseball team fell short to the College of William and Mary at home. The visiting team got the first run of the game in the third inning and was able to complete nine more runs to secure the win.
