On Saturday, December 2, 2017, a WC student reported a fondling to the UR Police Department. The incident occurred on December 1, 2017, in a vehicle while the victim was traveling back to campus from an off-campus event. The male offender was unknown to the victim. This is all the information that is available at this time.

In late fall of 2016, students at UR read yet another article about a sexual assault that had happened on campus, and how the administration had failed to help. Outraged, students called for reform, and the school began to work with the student body to ease the pain and change the future.

This past September, after Richmond students CC Carreras and Whitney Ralston went public about how they felt the university administration mishandled their sexual assault cases, there was a palpable outrage from students, faculty and alumni. Students were angry and incredulous. Parents were shocked and scared. Some alumni even vowed to discontinue their donations to the university. All the while, news and media outlets followed the scandal closely, interviewing students like myself about campus climate and student actions following so much outrage.
