Activist and co-founder of the Black Lives Matter movement, Alicia Garza, opened her talk Tuesday afternoon by recognizing the indigenous peoples’ lands that she stood upon and the indigenous communities that are on the front line fighting for the freedom and justice they deserve. It was a segue into a larger discussion about the liberation that the Black Lives Matter movement aims to bring to every community.

When Richmond made ClearPass OnGuard installation mandatory in February 2014, students' computers experienced issues ranging from slow internet connection to complete freezing of programs. Two years and many updates later, the software isn't stirring the student uproar it once did.

Update: There currently are not any Richmond students studying abroad in Brussels, said Michael Warchol, Richmond's manager for international communications, in an email. The Office of International Education has contacted all students studying abroad in Europe and have heard back from more than two-thirds of them, all of who are safe, he said.

Delta Gamma and Pi Beta Phi will wrap up a series of philanthropy events on Wednesday with Pi Beta Phi's Ballin' for Books. On Monday evening, Delta Gamma and Pi Beta Phi hosted profit shares at two nearby Chipotles and on Tuesday Delta Gamma held Spike for Sight, a volleyball tournament doubling as a fundraiser for the visually impaired.

St. Patrick will be in Richmond this weekend, participating in the kick-off parade at the 31st annual Irish Festival on Church Hill. Starting at 10 a.m. this Saturday, the festival will include hurlers, Irish step dancers, pipes and drum bands walking two blocks to commence a weekend full of Irish culture.
