Boutique of the Week: A Second Debut

3114 W. Cary St.

Richmond, Va.

Take a trip to A Second Debut by Goodwill if you still haven't found the perfect Halloween costume that no one else will be wearing.

The Goodwill boutique still has a few wigs left, said salesperson Jennifer Linton, who has been working at the store since it opened last February. There is also a selection of costumes, not to mention the normal clothes -- some of which are covered in sequins and awkward prints.

If you are ready to use your imagination, a costume surely awaits you at A Second Debut. Here are some costumes you could build from the merchandise: a disco ball, a cast member from Saved by the Bell, a tourist, Mrs. Doubtfire, a jogger, anyone from the 80s or anyone from the 90s.

The clothing is of a slightly better quality at this Goodwill store, Lipton said. Goodwill does this to attract a specific crowd and generate more profits. The goods are donated to the store and brought in from other Goodwill stores in the area. In general, the clothing is newer -- some is brand new.

A Second Debut is considered a "boutique" version of the regular Goodwill, Lipton said. But, everything is still low-priced.

Customers can also find shoes, blankets, home decorations, books and a great selection of vinyl records at the store. It's worth stopping by if you're in Carytown.
