- The NFL suspended New Orleans Saints second-year place kicker Garrett Hartley for four games because he tested positive for Adderall. ... Sounds like somebody should have started studying the playbook before the beginning of the preseason.
- Sources with the Minnesota Vikings have said that the arrival of Brett Favre has created issues in the locker room. ... Apparently the disputes resulted from Favre's inability to make a decision regarding team meals. He initially claimed he would never eat apple pie again, and then stole the last piece from Sage Rosenfels only minutes later.
