Let's Talk about Sex, Baby!

Dear Sally Sexpert,

So I always thought wearing one condom was enough, but then I heard that Asher Roth song, "I Love College," and it says, "When it comes to condoms, put two on." Should I seriously be double bagging it?

____________

Dear DurexDuplex,

The answer to your question is a big, fat, NO! Asher Roth must be in cahoots with the condom companies to double sale because that is some seriously foolish advice. In fact, wearing two condoms is a pretty solid way to either knock-up a lady or contract a mean case of Chlamydia. It turns out that the two layers of latex rub against each other, creating friction that can easily cause them to break. The same goes for using a male condom and a female condom simultaneously -- it's completely counterproductive, as well as not exactly setting the mood for sexy-time. But there are lots of great alternatives for keeping it safe: try pairing condoms with spermicide or condoms with any number of female birth control methods, whether it be a pill, a patch or a ring. And I hope Asher Roth isn't taking his own advice or he might find himself a baby-daddy one of these days.

Love,

Sally
