• The Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints will meet during Super Bowl XLIV, marking the first time since 1993 that the two No. 1 seeds will face each other for the title. ... • Brett Favre said it was highly unlikely he would return to the Minnesota Vikings for another season. ... Ironically, it's highly unlikely that Favre would have even been thinking about that had he not thrown a boneheaded interception during the final seconds of his NFC title game loss. • The University of South Carolina must pay a $25,000 fine to the SEC after its students rushed the court following a win against No. 1 Kentucky on Tuesday. ... Rushing the court has become about as overplayed as "Free Bird." How about waiting until you've actually accomplished something more than a regular-season win to storm the floor?

• NBA commissioner David Stern suspended Washington Wizards players Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton for the rest of the season on Wednesday after their quasi-duel in the locker room. ... The Wizards, Redskins and Nationals are the jesters of their respective leagues, leaving the Capitals as the only unscathed team in the nation's capital. For now.
