A win against the Flyers would probably secure an NCAA berth for the Spiders, so whether you're black out or white out, don't miss out.
- NFL general managers and owners are considering changing the rules governing overtime, specifically during the playoffs, so that the first team to score seven points would win, rather than simply the first team to score any points. ... Representatives from the Rams, Lions and Redskins have voiced their objections, arguing that they have a hard enough time forcing overtime, and then a hard enough time scoring any points in OT, so the rule change would just make winning borderline impossible.
- The NHL resumed play this week after a two-week hiatus for the Olympics. ... Good news: If the Games hooked you, you can still get your hockey fix. Bad news: You can't get it from MSNBC anymore.
- LeBron James sent a request to the NBA so that he can switch his uniform number from 23 to 6 next season, out of respect for Michael Jordan. ... Good move, seeing as kids love to rock 23 in honor of the best player of all time, and by the time King James' career is over, he'll be that guy. Space Jam was a classic though, MJ.
