The women's basketball team will face a high level of nonconference competition this year, taking on nine teams that saw postseason action last year.
After several weeks of practice on the courts in the Weinstein Center for Recreation and Wellness, the men's and women's basketball teams are less than two weeks away from returning to the Robins Center, perhaps as soon as the start of next week.

The University of Richmond women's basketball team struggled offensively and was unable to stop the Charlotte 49ers, and lost 64-55 Sunday at the Robins Center.
The University of Richmond men's basketball team trumped conference-opponent George Washington University, 73-64, in the Robins Center on Wednesday after trailing the Colonials for the majority of the game.
