As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect different parts of campus life, intramural sports this year have been for the most part canceled, although some members of the faculty remain hopeful for their return, with a few sports permitted to play.

University of Richmond undergraduate students will be allowed to use Richmond Guarantee funding to finance in-person internships and research opportunities this summer. The No.16 University of Richmond men’s lacrosse team fell 9-14 to No. 2 University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the Robins Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Due to a confirmed COVID-19 implication for head coach Dan Chemotti this week, associate head coach and defensive coordinator Paul Richards filled in for Chemotti during the game.

University of Richmond senior Suraj Bala sat in the monitoring room of the Henrico County Health Department among the complimentary water bottles and granola bars. Fifteen minutes had passed since Bala entered the room and no severe side effects seem to appear from his vaccine treatment, he recalled. By the end of his appointment, Bala left the health department knowing he was one of the first people in the UR community to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
