The vibrant retro red, white and green of Jarrod Hendricks’ windbreaker popped against the sea of gray van-roof directly above him. The window to his right exhibited the tapestry of a road trip: a tree, a building, a dash of purple, another car. The streaks of color in and out of the van were a mimicry of those on the cover of the album he helped create four years ago.

“Can you guys see this?” Wyatt Clem asked as the camera swung away from him, emphasizing his blurred background. “We’re at a Lowe’s right now,” he said with a smile. He was leaning slightly forward, his blonde hair draping his shoulders. Shawn Abhari, who was closer to the camera and sitting next to Clem, had moved the phone camera back to its original vertical position on the Zoom call.

For University of Richmond senior Christina Currie and her twin sister, Katie Currie, competing on "Wheel of Fortune" was a dream come true. Not only did the sisters walk away with an impressive total of $88,248 in winnings and trips to Maui and Portugal, but with memories of a competition they described as both nerve-racking and exhilarating.

As nightfall draped Richmond's historic Jackson Ward neighborhood, the enchanting melodies of Soraya Silene, known as IONNA, filled the air at Gallery 5 on a Wednesday evening in mid-October. Her singing echoed through the quiet streets, painting a musical tapestry that wove itself into the art-adorned walls, while about 40 attendees with beers in hand surrounded by art paintings and small cocktail tables swung their bodies to the music.

On the evening of Oct. 25, Leland Melvin, ‘86, had an audience of hundreds captivated by his stories of perseverance as an astronaut at NASA. He was joined on stage – as he was in space – by his friend and fellow former astronaut Robert Satcher. They traveled aboard the shuttle Atlantis in 2009, marking the first time two African-American men were in space together.
