In the 198th meeting between the Richmond and William & Mary men's basketball programs, 40 minutes wasn't long enough to determine a winner, and neither was 45.

"We are at the top right now as A-10 champions but we've done something but we haven't done enough," senior Kevin Anderson said. "We are satisfied but we want some more."
The last time the University of Richmond men's basketball team hosted the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, on Jan. 20, 2010, the 49ers won 71-59. The Spiders won their Atlantic-10 conference opener with the same score on Wednesday night in front of 4,231 spectators.
It would be understandable if the University of Richmond men's basketball team struggled defensively early on this season after losing David Gonzalvez and Ryan Butler, two of the best defenders in school history, to graduation after the end of last season. Instead, this year's team has exceeded even Richmond coach Chris Mooney's expectations.
